Deep Dive - Brookfield Corporation Aims to Double Again

Brookfield Corporation (New York: BN) has been known for decades as an investor in real assets – infrastructure, real estate, private equity and renewable energy, often with its own capital as a starting point, later supplemented by the increasing inflow of institutional investors. This institutional money now forms the core of the asset management division. However, during the Investor Day it became clear that the next growth phase is being sought elsewhere: in building an investment-led insurance organization via Brookfield Wealth Solutions (BWS).

CEO Bruce Flatt put it this way: “In our next phase of development, we are positioning our balance sheet to support our growing insurance activities. That means that our capital will increasingly come from private investors through our insurance float.”
